Having completed one DVD for an international school in Paris (ISP: "Where the World Goes to School") it was interesting to take on yet another international school in the same city. Located in "les banlieues," specifically the wealthy suburb of St. Cloud at the edge of Paris, ASP quickly asserted itself as quite different in style and personality from ISP. In fact, it was important to establish it as a place that, while certainly serving an international population, is distinctly American in terms of its educational philosophy. The idea of serving the "whole child" i.e., paying equal attention to intellectual, physical, and emotional development and well-being was important, as was making certain that viewers recognized the school's commitment to and success in preparing students for the rigorous International Baccalaureate. ASP is rightfully proud of its outstanding facilities, particularly its outdoor sports fields, unusual in Paris. Equally important to present were its extensive art, theatre, music, and field trip opportunities. This program will serve ASP not only in its student recruitment program but also as a development tool.
